For those of you out of the loop on this group, CAPSULE is a synthpop duo comprised of Yasutaka Nakata and Toshiko Koshijima. They started when they were both 17 years old, and their first CD release came in 2001. Since then, CAPSULE has released 15 albums, and their success and influence has been felt around the world.
Their musical style could be described as synthpop, EDM, kawaii electronic, or others depending on who you talk to. Their discography is vast and has included many styles over the years, but one recurring signature is their use of synthesizers. Distorted elements and futuristic sounds work together with interesting composition and melodies.
2021 saw the release of their first original in 6 years, ‘Hikari no Disco’. Since then, the pair has released remasters of past albums including ‘More!More!More!, FRUITS CLiPPER, FLASHBACK, and others. Listen to these and more below.
