Despite how lost or insecure we may sometimes feel, let us not dismiss our ability to bring positive influences to the lives of others. In short, ‘Drown’ represents being there for each other and lending a hand to those struggling to keep their heads above water. Luckily, like Covid, the empathy we feel for others is also contagious.
Mokita’s vocal performance is inspiring as the main topline throughout. As tension builds and breaks, a variety of synths and guitars come together for the chords and melodies. Crystal foley sounds and an interesting vocal chop add layers of character through the main chorus.
In the first day of release, ‘Drown’ amassed over 100k streams on Spotify. Dabin has also announced details for an upcoming album which we are very much looking forward to.
