“She’s just like me.”
That is the first line of Tristam’s latest, ‘Children in the Dark’. The Canadian singer/songwriter returns with veiled lyrics and new influences to tell the story of searching for a lost love. The accompanying music video delves into the emotions of remembering the last normal moments we spend with the ones we are close to – or wish to become close to.
Tristam has been a Monstercat regular for a significant part of his career, but recent music seems to signal the project going in a new direction. ‘Violence’ came out earlier in November, but prior to that, his last single was way back in 2018. Initially garnering popularity through cryptic lyrics and drop melodies, this new rawer style will no doubt take us to deeper and deeper places in our psyche as Tristam continues to advance the project.
“At least we’ll finally know that if we have to be, we don’t have to be alone.” Watch below.
