ILLENIUM Teams Up with Iann Dior for ‘First Time’

Hello, stranger. I don’t know your name, but I like your taste in music.

Iann Dior and ILLENIUM’s new collaboration is an effortlessly cool, danceable, radio-ready hit. For fans expecting their beloved future bass pioneer to stick to his dance music guns, such adventures in pop might be considered blasphemous. That being said, there is a level of versatility here that should be shown appreciation for. It’s a shame that branching out and catering to different types of listeners is met with such criticism and doubt.

Iann Dior provides the vocal track on the topline throughout, and his pop-punk style sound brings an interesting swagger to the song. In addition to recent music ‘Holding On’ and ‘Lose Somebody’, Iann was featured on 24kGoldn’s single ‘Mood’, which was the 21-year-olds highest charting track to date.

In February, ILLENIUM hinted at an upcoming album, so it stands to reason we can expect more music from him relatively soon. His previous music included ‘Paper Thin’ with Tom DeLonge and Angels & Airwaves, and ‘Hearts on Fire’ with Lights and Dabin.
